Obi-Wan Kenobi

"The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together."

Though he started out the somewhat unwanted Padawan learner of Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi would eventually become one of the most venerable Jedi Knights in the galaxy. A master of the Force and determined to do what is right, he represents the Jedi Order well. He has, in fact, the perfect temperament to be a Jedi Knight. Though considered by many to be one of the finest swordsman in the Jedi Order and the first in a thousand years to defeat a Sith Lord in battle, he would never say so of himself. Humble almost to a fault, it is truly his honour to live a life of service to the Republic and the Jedi Order. The prologue of one of the novels describes him as "A phenomenal Jedi Pilot who doesn't like to fly. A devastating warrior who'd rather not fight. A negotiator without peer who frankly prefers to sit alone in a quiet cave and meditate." Throughout much of his later life, Obi-Wan blamed himself for failing to stop his Padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker, from turning to the Dark Side. In his later years, he tried to redeem his past failure by taking in Anakin's son Luke and showing him the ways of the Force.
